高雄市是中華民國的直轄市，位於臺灣西南部的都市。其轄域東北至中央山脈及玉山主峰，西南至南海上之南沙太平島、中洲島、東沙群島。順時針方向與臺南市及嘉義縣、南投縣、花蓮縣、臺東縣、屏東縣等縣市相鄰。面積達2,952平方公里；設籍人口約277.7萬人，為臺灣人口排名第三的城市。
Kaohsiung is a municipality directly under the Republic of China, located in the southwestern part of Taiwan. Its jurisdiction northeast to the central mountains and Yushan peak, southwest to the South China Sea Nansha Taiping Island, Nakasu Island, Dongsha Islands. Clockwise and Tainan City and Chiayi County, Nantou County, Hualien County, Taitung County, Pingtung County and other counties adjacent. It covers an area of 2,952 square kilometers and has a population of about 2.777 million, making it the third-largest city in Taiwan.
