臺南市是中華民國的直轄市，位於臺灣南部的都市，其西面臨臺灣海峽、東面臨阿里山山脈、北面與嘉義縣鄰接 、南面與高雄市鄰接。面積約2,192平方公里，設籍人口約188.6萬人，臺南市的建城歷史可上推至1620年代，為臺灣最早建立的城市。

Tainan is a municipality directly under the Republic of China. It is located in the southern city of Taiwan. The west is facing the Taiwan Strait, facing the Alishan Mountains to the east, adjoining Chiayi County to the north and adjoining Kaohsiung City to the south. It covers an area of 2,192 square kilometers and has a population of about 1,886,000. The history of the founding of Tainan City can be pushed up to the 1620s as the earliest city in Taiwan.
